Handstand Weekend Workshop with Ulrik Fossum

Day 1: Getting the Handstand Practice Started

Saturday, April 26th, 2025

04:00pm – 06:30pm

Day one will address beginner level handstands and how to start your practice. This day is best suited for people who are new to handstands or are inconsistent with establishing balance for 10 seconds or less. Day one will cover:

  • Understanding the Handstand Practice
  • Mobility for Proper Alignment
  • How to Balance
  • How to Kick into Handstand
  • Drills for Beginners

Day 2: Handstand Beyond the Straight Line

Sunday, April 27th, 2025

10:00am – 12:30pm

Day two will focus on taking your handstand beyond the straight line. This workshop is best suited for people who can already balance in a straight line handstand with some consistency, but is still open to all participants regardless of skill level so true beginners can get an idea of what your handstand future will bring. Topics covered include:

  • Joint Preparation and Mobility
  • Kick-up and Balance
  • Shape Coordination
  • Pike and Pancake Flexibility and Compression
  • Press Work

Ulrik Fossum

Ulrik is a 33 year old handbalancer from Norway. He started his handstand training when he was 21 and quickly developed a high level of skill and precision. He worked for 5 years as a personal trainer, but transitioned to coaching handstands exclusively with online coaching and workshops internationally. Ulrik got to the Semifinals of Norway’s Got Talent, and has performed and participated in photo shoots for Lamborghini. He runs an active online community and has provided a lot of experience and information to the Handbalancing Community at large.
