Year Round Camp Counselor

Role Description

Camp counselors help guests realize their potential in parkour, fitness, and exercise through positive instruction, advice, and encouragement. They are responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering an appropriate range of exercise activities for individual youth or youth groups. Counselors must care for the safety and well-being of all individuals. They may be called upon to demonstrate skills, assist in spotting, or apply first aid. Counselors work with peer staff to ensure the delivery of excellent programming, coordinate the use of equipment, and prepare for the progress of every camper. Moving, lifting, loading, or repairing of equipment may be required. This position will also ensure the fitness areas are clean and safe. Camp counselors have the responsibility of customer services, basic fitness knowledge, and an obligation for safety. Our ideal candidate enjoys working with kids, has a strong sense of play, values the importance of safety, and is ready to share their passion for fitness.

Essential Skills

  1. Ability to observe and work with groups of children
  2. Provide service and communicate to guests in a friendly manner
  3. Maintain a neat and clean appearance as a role model for children
  4. Exhibit strong verbal skills
  5. Apply and administer first-aid and CPR

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet all incoming guests in a friendly manner. 
  • Build and maintain friendly and pleasant relationships with guests. 
  • Provide expert knowledge, advice, and safety information through a coaching delivery. Teach relevant skills, techniques, and drills. 
  • Monitor and enhance performance using intuition, encouragement, and constructive feedback.
  • Identify guest strengths and weaknesses. 
  • Assess camp schedule or programming and implement appropriate measures. 
  • Uphold a clean and safe environment for guests and camp programming needs. 
  • Report notifiable incidents through the proper course and notify a manager.
  • Effectively communicate scheduling and other operational issues with a manager.

Educational Background

Some sports-specific coach training, education, and experience is preferred. Our thorough in-house training is provided.

Work Schedule

Availability for weekdays 7:45am – 5:15pm. Offering both full time and part-time. Our part-time day shifts are generally broken into two shifts: mornings (7:45am – 12:45pm) and afternoons (12:30pm – 5:15pm).
