Part-time Front Desk and Communications Attendant
Role Description
Attendants have an eye for detail and a smile on their faces. This vital position works in specific areas to ensure the gym is clean and stocked, and that guests are happy. They provide services for guests to make sure their experiences are as special as possible. Our front desk also manages the kiosk software for guest management from billing, attendance records, personal information, and more. At times, the Front Desk Attendant may be called upon to help assist a coach with student or parent management or to apply first aid. We can see this as a company role requiring immense responsibility for guest services and job flexibility.
Essential Skills
- Customer Service Skills – Listen to guest needs, provide excellent service, and communicate in a friendly manner to all requests.
- Attention to Detail – Thoroughness is important. Making sure every detail is taken care of is crucial.
- Neat and Clean Appearance – Attendants are often the representative that has the first and last interaction with a guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all phone calls and emails in a polite and pleasant tone. Route messages to the appropriate personnel when needed.
- Welcome and greet all incoming guests in a friendly manner. Provide all guest with information regarding services, their personal records, and retail products. Suggest company classes, events, or products.
- Maintain records of guests including personal information, billing, health and safety concerns, attendance, or class levels.
- Seek and update information as to how guests will provide payment for any business services or products.
- Handle all inquiries, requests, or reservations per the instructions of guests.
- Maintain inventory and records of company retail, clothing, food, and drink products.
- Uphold a clean environment for guests by ensuring spaces are adequately stocked, hygienic, and washed.
- Complete any side work or checklists provided by a manager.
Educational Background
No specific training or education is required. Previous customer service skills are suggested.
Work Schedule
The front desk attendance generally works during standard company hours when coaches are present i.e. four to eight hours in the late afternoon. Evening and / or weekend shifts may be required. See our schedule for a general understanding. Twelve to twenty hours are available.
