Exercise – Tuck to Diamond to Straddle Positions
One of our favorite class drills for handbalancing because it explores different shapes and how they change our balance. Transition between these three handstand positions. This can be done with your back to the wall or in free balance. You should be as close to the wall as possible and still be able to get into the tuck position. Try one of the following challenges if the positioning is easy:
- Reverse the order
- Take 4-10 seconds to for each transition
- Have a shift in weight by either having one hand on a block, being on canes, or working on an incline.
