Exercise – Tornado Kick
The Tornado Kick is a beginner level kicking trick in our tricking curriculum. It is a great combo opening trick and is a progression to tricks like the 540, cheat 720, and raiz.
Face your target in a neutral stance, step over 180° with your right leg so that your back is facing your target and you are in a “pop” stance. Then turn to the left to face your target while lifting your left leg up as a knee and jump. While airborne, switch legs so that your left leg is reaching toward the ground and round kick or Inside Crescent kick with your right leg.
The 540 Kick opens you to many new tricking skills. When you’re ready to take it to the next level:
- Work on your precision of the 540 by kicking a target
- Progress towards either the cheat 720 or raiz
