Exercise – Left to Right Stack Through Shoulders

The Left to Right Shoulder Stack drill is for intermediate handbalancers working towards the one armed handstand. Off-balance exercises are great to challenge our control of our shapes and bodylines. Perform a back to wall handstand in your favorite position. In this video, Ben is in “stag” and you can be in straddle, split, or tucked. Stack your weight as much as you can over one arm, then do the same thing on the other arm. The arm that isn’t actively supporting your weight can lift the heel of your hand or shift to piano fingers with this drill.

Switching up your shapes can challenge you in this drill. A couple of other ways include:

  • Taking a longer time to shift left to right
  • Finding and staying at the far edges
